My whole reseller account is down, there is no-one on chat for support, it's been down for 4 hours, how should I approach this company. Ticket ID - VIW-785-53174

Mint2 is still down. I am preparing for the worst now.
smallbudgethosting · 2026-05-05 04:29 PM · #1
I'm on mint2 as well. in a previous reply of mine I quoted directly from support that mint2 is undergoing forensic recovery. For certain clients, I rushed to get them online using cloudflare, so they had email at least, and trying to scrape data from archive.org and any other archive that I can find. from there I am using AI to build a basic html site to get something online via cloudflare pages. I don't know if I should post the full chat log or just snippets but basically at this point. I've accepted the worst.

They opened support chat; 30 people in queue. I expect they will close it again soon. Do you guys know some viable low-cost Europe reseller hosting?

Skynethosting.net isn't responsing to customers, all our reseller accounts are down, please someone guide how to contact them. There is no timeline when they will fix. No timeline or update if all their servers are affected, we are in dark since 48 hours. Last reply: https://skynethelp.com/index.php?/Ne...based-services
Knewedge LLC · 2026-05-04 09:05 AM · #5
I suspect they got exploited, and that's why it's taking so long to "patch" their servers.
Hexpress · 2026-05-06 02:11 AM · #5
Another day goes by, with no updates and no answers to the tickets.

Good to know that some server really back online.. My websites on SG Reseller account still inaccessible
sercantoker · 2026-05-17 12:34 PM · #6
Hello, instead of waiting for the service to be activated on Skynethosting, I transferred my local backups to another reseller hosting company and they are now working without any problems. Skynet was a complete fiasco for me and my clients, but I will not have the same experience again because I will never work with Skynethosting again. Final decision. Last important note: 99.9% Uptime Guarantee - Service Level Agreement is invalid anyway. Despite having paid the bill, I will demand a full refund without any conditions. I've learned another lesson.
hansje80 · 2026-05-01 10:22 PM · #7
After 11 years with them, YES 11!! I am now seriously considering moving (my vip reseller account in Singapore is not usable for 48hrs now). Anyone know of a cPanel/WHM reseller provider (with SG as one of their locations) with similar VIP reseller specs as SkyNet and similar price? Has to be reputable and well known, not a new provider (only exist 5 years or less). Btw I have several dedi and colo elsewhere that I manage myself for my ow hosting company , and I patched everything immediately as I saw my root passes being changed eventually at a rate of 3 changes per hour. I shut servers down in DC, changed the root pass and quickly forced the cPanel updates, and all done. Just had to roll back (raid config) to latest unaffected backup, send an email to clients and all done within 2 hours. I am not a network engineer by any means, but if I can do this for 20+ servers, why can qualified staff at SkyNet not do this as well, or ideally even faster ? Really beats me. Note: Considering creating byenethosting.net and offer strictly reseller plans with no profit (or veeeery low) margin, to offer the same as skynethosting, but with better uptimes and less issues. Maybe even an idea to collaborate and do something together as an initiative for and by disappointed old SkyNet clients like myself. Feel free to dm I suppose a small team of 3-4 people is mooooore than enough (also for covering the tickets and such, but mainly ai, because imo resellers should help their own clients with silly issues like my website not working anymore, just because of some bad coded WP plugin or whatever).
maiself · 2026-05-04 01:17 PM · #7
Their latest update.. But still my website/account not up yet.
Hexpress · 2026-05-06 07:54 AM · #7
Another day goes by and the problem persists, the servers are down, and skynethosting.net isn't answering tickets or updating anything related to the problem.
ejoe · 2026-05-08 12:15 AM · #7
which server? SGVIP4?
Dilstar · 2026-05-18 05:53 AM · #7
Hi, I got information that they have disabled SSH/Terminal, despite all other provider in shared/reseller do provide terminal/ssh, They are using cagefs, so there is no reason to not to allow ssh/terminal. Now a days there are lot of script which requires terminal/ssh and most of the developers want to enable that option. I do not find any valid reason to disable it despite other do not restrict.
webpundits · 2026-05-02 01:58 AM · #8
Irony: Their own website works absolutely fine, but many of the client websites are down including ours.

It no longer has any critical value or importance for me. I'm happy to say that I'm no longer your company customer. I've migrated all my sites to Digital Ocean from my manual backups. All my customers are happy, and I'm happy too. I will continue to receive trouble-free reseller service from Digital Ocean for the long term. Skynet hosting and services no longer have any importance or value for me. Forever goodbye.

You're absolutely right, brother, I completely agree. Unlike Skynet hosting, which was down for 15 days, DigitalOcean brought 100 of my clients' manual backups online in 5 minutes and successfully activated all services. But you could also research other established companies. Like wise godaddy or namecheap etc bla bla
PrimaWP-Adam · 2026-05-02 12:36 PM · #11
Probably related to the recent cPanel exploits, they likely got hit by them as did many other customers on CentOS 7. I would assume all your data is gone (which is what the hacks have been doing) and they'll likely need to restore from a backup.

We've heard servers were compromised due to unpatchable software (make your own assumptions) and all the servers still offline are gone. Potentially malware related. The end is near

My singapore located reseller email & websites are now working fine. cpanel / whm will activate in 1 or 2 days as per chat If your websites are not working, maybe switch dns to opendns or googledns. You may find it working.

They posted this yesterday, they haven't updated anything today, my tickets have been unanswered for days, my server is still down and there's a huge queue in the chat, I can't get in touch with them.
Hexpress · 2026-05-06 04:57 PM · #14

taufiqshovon · 2026-05-09 12:20 PM · #15
Im sharing my experience here to see if anyone else has faced something similar with SkynetHosting.net, and hopefully to get some visibility on this issue. My Singapore reseller server has been down for 11+ days, and throughout this entire period, I have received almost no meaningful communication from their support or management team. Heres what has happened: Multiple support tickets have been opened, but there has been little to no response. Live chat is practically useless after trying for 78 hours repeatedly, eventually someone from the sales team responds, but they have no actual update and only repeat the same predefined responses every time. For 11 days, the communication has been exactly the same: generic replies, no ETA, no technical explanation, and no accountability. No one from management appears to be addressing the issue or communicating with affected clients. What makes this even more frustrating is: I purchased a reseller service that includes a backup server option. If the main server issue is taking this long, they could at least restore accounts or migrate clients to another server using available backups. I even requested something much smaller and reasonable backups for only 3 websites (out of many accounts under my reseller plan) so I could restore them elsewhere myself. Even that request has been ignored. No backup delivery, no ticket reply, nothing. At this point, my clients websites have been offline for nearly two weeks, and Im left without any real support, transparency, or recovery path. This is honestly one of the worst hosting support experiences Ive had. My questions to the community: Has anyone else experienced this with SkynetHosting.net recently? Is there any alternative way to escalate this issue to management? If anyone has dealt with a similar prolonged outage, what steps would you recommend? I understand outages can happen. Infrastructure problems happen. But 11+ days without proper communication, actionable support, or even backup access is unacceptable.

Skynet Management Team, I am writing this with an overwhelming sense of frustration and disbelief due to the incompetence of Skynet Management Team. It has now been more than a week since our servers went down, and despite repeated assurances, we are still completely offline. The "echo responses" I have receivedmeaningless percentages and promised resolution windows that come and goare insulting. While you provide automated updates claiming work is "90% complete" or "will be resolved in X hours," my business is effectively being destroyed. The impact of your unprofessionalism and "ghosting" is catastrophic: Loss of Business: As a small-to-medium enterprise, our clients are our lifeline. We are losing hard-earned contracts every single day the servers remain dark. Reputational Damage: We are facing severe backlash from our customers who rely on us. Legal Consequences: I am now receiving legal notices from clients due to this breach of servicea situation caused entirely by your incompetence and lack of transparency. It is a hard lesson learned. We trusted Skynet as a US-based entity, yet your lack of a physical presence or a functional US office suggests otherwise. Furthermore, the business registration information provided for the State of Delaware appears to be inaccurate. Operating under the guise of a US company while providing zero accountability is deceptive and predatory. At this point, "sorry" doesn't cover the thousands of dollars in lost revenue and the potential end of my company. I require an immediate, honest status report and a definitive timeline for restoration. Be advised that I am exploring all available avenues, including reporting this to the Delaware Division of Corporations and seeking legal counsel to recover the significant financial damages incurred by this negligence. Restore our services immediately.
Hexpress · 2026-05-06 10:32 PM · #17
On one of my servers, some web pages are already visible, which gives me some hope that the problem will be solved. I'm going to check what you said about the emails.
MicroWorks · 2026-05-10 08:15 PM · #17
I guess we all have very similar experience with their functionality and support. I am lucky that at least my websites were working all that time, but emails not and I cannot access WHM/cPanels up to now. I am on Berkshire server in UK.
smallbudgethosting · 2026-05-03 02:17 PM · #18
I am a current customer that is affected, I just found out mint2 is a write off and they are attempting data recovery, otherwise I would not be posting here. directly from my live chat going on right now: I need to be transparent with you after double-checking with the concerned team regarding mint2.At this stage, the situation is still under active investigation and recovery attempts are ongoing. However, WHM/cPanel backup generation and direct backup extraction are still not accessible because the server has not yet fully completed its integrity validation and restoration process. Please also note that mint2 is affected and there have been a full data loss

The lack of updates and the delay in restoring the servers is unacceptable. Many of us are suffering serious financial and reputational damage because of this situation. skynethosting.net needs to give us clear answers and realistic timelines, not automated responses. I'm already expecting the worst.

Dilstar · 2026-05-11 06:32 AM · #19
Hi, all other resellers, providers services are up, their webmail/cpanel/whm all are fine, i don't know why skynet is taking so long for patches, as i have some deducted server with vps, i have added patches on them. but skynet situation is still same, my all customers stuck, they cant read their email, cant access cpanel.
DewlanceHosting · 2026-05-03 10:45 PM · #20
They have posted "No confirmed compromise has been identified within our systems based on current assessments." It will take time to start all servers they have. There is also vulnerability found in Linux Kernel (Copy Fail).
MicroWorks · 2026-05-05 01:50 PM · #20
As we dont know when Skynet services will be functioning again, I started to transfer customers to another mail provider.
Chaddy · 2026-05-07 01:17 AM · #20
I can't comment specifically. But since the 30th of April Cpanel and a lot of associated software such as Apache have needed to be patched due to critical vulnerabilities. I know the SkyNet hosting guys have been active on these forums in the past if you look up the name on the forum you could try Private messaging them directly.
